What Our Service Trucks Carry to a Broken-Down Machine

Each service truck carries its own crane, welder-generator, and tooling. That lets a technician lift components, weld, and machine worn pin bores where your machine broke down, without hauling it to a shop or using power from your site.

How DBM Grew From Field Repair Into Sales & Rentals

Alex Stursa bought his own service truck about 10 years ago and began taking repair calls at mines and jobsites around Reno. Before that, he repaired machines in mine maintenance and as a dealer field technician.

At the time, a dealer could take one to three weeks to get a technician to a broken machine. Alex usually got there the next day, and the customers who saw that difference told other customers. We have never paid for advertising, so our work still comes from referrals. One gravel producer that first called us nine years ago still calls us today. The crew grew with the work, and at our busiest we ran 15 service trucks.

We began renting out a few machines to customers who needed one for a single job, such as a dozer for 30 days, without having to buy it. Today our rental fleet runs from mini excavators to 50-ton mining trucks, and we sublease machines from partner fleets when a customer needs one we do not own.

Marty Elek was XCMG’s regional representative when he brought the XCMG line to DBM in September 2025. That month, we began selling new machines as the exclusive XCMG dealer. In the summer of 2026, a demo compactor that a customer had just agreed to buy broke down before the customer’s funding went through. We had no second compactor, so we rented one from a competitor, delivered it to the customer’s site, and paid the rent until the customer’s machine was running again.
